When you truly need an answer to prayer, because life depends on it…
What’s the secret to a strong prayer?
When do you know from the depths of your being, that God hears, and will answer your prayer?
What are the right steps to take during your prayer time?
Prayer is important at ‘ALL’ times everyday and ‘Praying in the Spirit of God’ is also just as important.
While we pray; we need to go straight to the Word of God – the promises of scripture written in the Bible there is no other way to hold true to what God says, is ‘Yes and Amen’ if we don’t go right to the source, God and His Word, we have no power, no foundation to stand on through praying. Standing firm on the promises God has laid out for our lives and also for us to stand in the gap for others and their lives, is sometimes where life depends on it. We need to come boldly to God with confidence and declare and claim the promises God has for all of us. We need to speak the Word of God out loud and in Spirit. Ask fellow believers to stand with you in prayer during this time. (2-3 are gather there I am in the midst) Also be thankful in your prayers. Honor God on your knees.
Praise and worship God during this time with a thankful heart, it helps you surrender yourself so you are not worrying but the focus is now on God where it should be, so He can carry out His Word the promises you are standing on through prayer, praise and worship.
Fast and pray. This is a powerful gesture to God stating that your Spiritual self is more important then food to your physical self, this allows you to go deeply into the Spiritual Realm and fight where the unseen strongholds of the enemy are and we can demolish them. We are able to connect more deeply to God, gain His power and overcome our obstacle. It’s important to put on the ‘Full Armor of God’.
Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV. 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 with your feet fitted with readiness that comes form the gospel of peace. 16 in addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
The enemy will try and push us back, telling us lies that things will happen, or terrible lies to differ us to stop praying and stop fasting or to stop praising and worshiping, he will say anything to get us to falter, he will try and fill your mind with doubt, fear, discouragement and we need to stand strong persevere through, because we serve a Mighty God and God is not one to be pushed around by the enemy, God is a promise keeper, and God fights our, battles.
James 4:7 NIV. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
As a prayer request, desire to pray or even a burden upon your heart comes, we need to stay settled in God’s peace. The enemy will try to create ways for you to keep the burden upon yourself, when you start to feel the heaviness of the burden and your weighted down this means you are taking it on yourself to help, fix or make it better but we have to be careful not to withhold God from working things out and this is exactly why the enemy will try to burden you down. The burden upon your heart is okay because it moves us to pray, we need to pray and release it into God’s hand to carry it out, we can’t carry it and we shouldn’t try to carry it either. Go to God during this time and find comfort in Him.
2 Corinthians 1:3&4 NIV. 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
Stay the course as long as it needs to take and God will let you know. When you are quiet before God; praying, fasting, praising, worshiping and thanking Him, remember to be still and rest in Him, He will reveal to you calming acknowledgments to help you know He’s got this.
Recap: Prayer request comes, find Promises to stand on, Pray in the Spirit, put on the Full Armor of God, Fast and Pray, Praise and Worship, Kneel in Prayer, Pray with Thanksgiving, include others you know will stand in prayer with you and pray together.
Listen to God He will tell you how you need to proceed or how to stand in the gap for someone else.
One more thing when God fulfills His promise and answers your prayers, rejoice and continue to praise and worship Him be thankful in your prayers still, but remember the enemy will come again and try to take away your joy filling you with lies to try to bring you down yet again, so stand firm in God’s gift of answered prayers and continue to worship Him.
1 Peter 5:6&7 NIV. 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
