Its like hitting a nail on its head, if you are not diligent on hitting the nail on its head that nail will never go in and whatever you are building nailing it together will never stand.
The oxford dictionary quotes ‘having or showing care and conscientiousness in one’s wok or duties. “many, caves are located only after a diligent search”.
I like this description on diligent... But let's put it into a biblical perspective...
In the Bible, diligence is a virtue that means to put in sustained effort while keeping faith in God. It's a sign of personal, familial, and societal health. Diligence is essential for Christian growth and the spiritual disciplines of prayer, scripture reading, evangelism, giving, and worship.
Here are some ways to be diligent biblically:
Find joy and satisfaction in doing God's work
Act without having to be told what to do all the time
Focus on the most important things
Don't give up when things get hard
Pray for guidance and strength
Hebrews 6:9–12 God is not an unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
What does being diligent mean to you?
Are you diligent in some ways in your life but when it comes to the Lord, you never gave it a second thought, that you should strengthen your diligence revolving around Him? Who better though to be diligent about than the one who created you, loves you beyond measure and the one that holds your eternity in safe keeping until the time is right. (ponder and pray).
Closing thoughts keeping this sweet and brief, I want to be been more diligent with my Lord than I already am because seeking Him we find the mysteries of God and He will reveal to us in due time when He knows it’s right for us to uncover what are His desires. I want to be closer and closer to my Heavenly Father here and now before I am standing in all of His glory, in my new body and my tears stop running by His awe and wonder I am in. I want to be diligent, do you?
Heavenly Father, I am seeking You from another angle because You are so great I don’t want to miss a thing, and I know You won’t allow me to, I just want to be sure. I pray we all Your Saints agree on the way Your Word says for us to be diligent and we be after You that way, we respond better, we carry ourselves the way You approve, our diligent reflection be what You want it to be and more. Plead the Precious Blood of Jesus over All, in Jesus name, Amen.
