Second Guessing…

Don’t second guess yourself, God made you, you are made right.
We want to be thinner, tighter, have no wrinkles, nothing sagging no blemishes or scars… well its simple and it shouldn’t be a secret that accepting Jesus promotes all these inquires, we keep searching for perfection, well perfection is only found in Him.
Matthew 5:48 NIV. Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
I have been through my twenties and tired to hang onto the twenties in my thirties but for me that is where it seemed like my body was falling apart at the seams. It kept literally breaking down not keeping up with what ‘I’ thought it always needed to do and that was push it past its limits always (being super mom/wife, workouts, workaholic, and me myself and I, to keep gaining more and more momentum into things I thought were most important).
I was an all or nothing kind of a girl growing up (don’t tell me I couldn’t do something, I’ll prove it, I can do it!) I just kept pushing the envelope so to speak and while the thirties hit back hard (after a couple of surgeries, a near death out of body experience, and my whole life falling apart) What was I doing? And boy was I wrong…
While I lost my way for a time, I became broke down, broken hearted and self-consumed. So, when I re-fixed my eyes on Jesus, He made a way when there was no way and I started to see straight again and as I refocused on the Truth of God’s Word, I seen myself in a whole new way, besides when we ask Jesus into our hearts, ‘We are a new creation the old is gone and we are made new.’ All glory goes to our Heavenly Father. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Embracing forty is wonderful to me I am so excited to be a part of where God is going to take me next on our life Journey together.
Okay, so now you know you are a new creation in Christ Jesus, stop looking for the flaws, when God has healed you, He has healed you. The best part of walking with Jesus is that He speaks the Truth to you and you’ll be without spot or wrinkle. You will be given a whole new perfect body – no need for Botox, lifting, nipping, or tucking anywhere.
Philippians 3:19-21 NIV. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so they will be like his glorious body.
Yes, we are longing for something but it isn’t or should not be perfection unless it is perfection found in God alone but even then, you don’t have to be or look a certain way you think is better, God made you.
Colossians 1:28 NIV. We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
Trying to make yourself look newer, younger and fresher striving to change yourself to stay the same as your youthful self can be dangerous and idolistic even. When we aren’t embracing who God made us to be, we are rejecting God, when we try to change the image of ourselves this is wrong. God made us and God doesn’t make fall apart people. God builds us up not tears us down, God helps us overcome not be undone, God lifts us up He doesn’t trip us up, God heals He does not break, God loves not hates, God provides a way when there is no way, God saves not destroys, God creates us all beautiful He does not distort and cast us away, God gives good gifts to all of His children and God does not un-accept you ever.
Truth yes, we are wasting away but that’s because we are mortal this side of Heaven right here and right now but through Jesus Christ, we gain Eternal Life and when we ascend to Heaven with Jesus, we will be given a new immortal body that is in-disposable, which means everlasting forever, so it does not waste away. This unfathomable gift, comes later, you have breath you have purpose, when you die you have completed the course of life and become immortal, living with Father God forever and for all Eternity.
Ephesians 4:20-24 NLT. 20 But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. 21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes form him, 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God – truly righteous and holy.
Let’s stop trying to fix everything and embrace how God chose us to be and enjoy life, so when it’s finished God will say, “Well done good and faithful servant.” We are not very good and faithful if we keep trying to fix ourselves when God made us the way we are, that’s like saying we could have done it better, do you know how to knit someone together, and in their mother’s womb? trying to create a complete person is the Lords job and we wouldn’t know where to start…
Please take care of your bodies the Holy Spirit dwells there. Don’t run crazy striving after what you think you can do to it to keep it in an unrealistic state when the Bible clearly tells us our bodies are wasting away, remember its not done, God gives us immortal perfect bodies in Heaven so don’t lose sight of who God is and who He created you to be.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Lord God I pray we can all thank You for making us the way You have. I pray Lord Your people will see the way You see. Heavenly Father thank You for the beauty in all of Your creations help us not to try and change how You created us but to take care of our bodies for You. As Holy Spirits dwells within us Lord help us to praise You and help us to encourage others to embrace who they are in You. Lord I Pray we don’t get all caught up in the worldly nets of how we can change and adjust our make up to fit the worlds point of view on always being a youthful acceptance. I pray that we fall on You Lord and You help keep us focused with our eyes fixed on Your beauty and not ours. I thank You Jesus for giving Your life for us to be able to have life and to have it to the full Your eternal promise awaits so I pray we keep our hearts fixed upon Yours, in Jesus name, Amen.
