What have you been doing with your time?

I have been blessed in so many ways by God, I have learned a lot. I have been reset.

Here’s a thought…If you think your life has been turned upside down, maybe it has been. In a good way following God can sometimes feel that way, (positively thinking). Actually, in reality, God probably turned it right side up and you’re actively hearing Him for the first time, or even the first time in a long time. You needed to be put in the right prospective so God can mold you from this angle, this way you’ll hear and obey, before maybe you weren’t openly available and needed an abrupt change.

Let’s look at good ol’ Paul (Saul), God physically turned his life upside down… Here’s the low-down summary. Saul (Paul) a persecutor of Christians and a non-believer in Jesus Christ was blinded by Jesus, his life was literally turned upside down, this was the right side up activation that Saul needed to get a different perspective and ‘reset’ his life. After becoming blind, he didn’t eat for three days (fasted - whether he knew, it or not) and during this time he prayed. Ananias sent by the Lord – was called in a vision, came to Saul, placed his hands on him so Saul would be able to see but he also was filled with the Holy Spirit, scales fell from his eyes and he could see again, he was baptized and re-strengthened after eating some food. Saul spent time with the disciples and began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.

In order for God to get Saul’s attention he turned his life upside down by blinding him, so that he could see. He became a messenger spreading the Good News, he was eventually renamed Paul.

How has God been trying to get your attention?

By the world in the state it is in some of our lives have been turned upside down, our homes have been turned upside down, our work places have been turned upside down, but maybe it’s been turned right side up and you need to look at it with a different perspective.

Paul’s example of mercy from our Lord is a huge message to not take lightly, the story in Acts 9 is a great way to realize maybe we need to ‘reset’ our lives too. Looking at the big picture of life when we are going our own way, doing our own things if God is not in the center of everything we touch, immerse, and absorb ourselves with we are then not carrying on the Will of God and the purpose for our lives. We can still do our jobs, schooling, drawing, music, reading etcetera, etcetera but let’s not forget to keep God in all our life stuff. Saul went his own way did his own things, blind – mentally and blind in sin, but after being blind literally and physically he could finally see and built the rest of his life upon the Lord. Paul gained mercy from Jesus and ultimately gained life.

Let’s gain life from God by inviting Him in to every area of our lives. ‘Reset’ and put God first in everything you do. Don’t leave God out.

Father God, I pray that all Your people will take this time to have a reset, this reset will put their lives into another prospective and allow Lord that prospective to be Yours. Lord, turn lives upside down so they can face right side up into Your presence and become Your way for their lives not their own, for I know I am lost without You and with You - You, make a way and Your way is right and true. Enable us to stay open to Your guidance and to have a crisp perspective on where You are leading us, protect us Lord from the enemy who wants to distract us in the new prospective, thinking just because it’s different doesn’t mean it’s not You, help us line up Your Word with our thoughts so we are not led astray or deceived. In Your hands we put our faith and trust You to carry us through. I love You, and bless You, Lord our God. In Jesus name, Amen.

Romans 8:5&6 NIV. 5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind of a sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

2 Corinthians 6:15-7:1 NIV. 6 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What argument in there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 7:1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
