Worry or Care, Care or Worry? …….

Hmm… as we look into ‘worry/care’ there is a fine line between the two and I wonder if we are in a caring place at times people may see it as us worrying but while we are in a worry state of mind are we actually caring? But on the other hand, while we may be in a caring mindset are we worrying?

What’s the difference?

Worry = google diagnosis another word for worry is fret and by definition is to give way to anxiety or unease; allowing one’s mind to dwell in difficulty or troubles.

Care = google says another word for care is safe keeping, and by definition the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance, and protection of someone or something.

So what does Jesus say about worry…

Matthew 6:25&27 NIV. 25 Therefore, I tell you do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

This brings me to the verse about believing without seeing when John talks about the story of Thomas and Jesus says… John 20:29 NIV. Then Jesus told him “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” When we look with our human eye we see many things around us, and we focus on what comes at us first, then respond and by taking a breath a moment to observe and another moment to think and respond there are so many different avenues we can take.

Firstly, if we look at the big picture ‘we see more but if we glance many things go unnoticed’. Worry has the effects on us to allow things to seem worse than they really are or even untrue. When we worry anxiety comes flooding us with pressure and difficulty, we become uneasy and tend to fret.

Matthew 10:19&20 NIV. 19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time, you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of you Father speaking through you.

Jesus tells His disciples not to worry what to say when they arrest you… God will always guide you in truth and when He says not to worry about even words coming from your mouth you can be rest assured when you are in a worried state He will come to your rescue, even giving you the right words to say.

Jeremiah 1:9 NIV. Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “Now, I have put my words in your mouth. Jeremiah was very young he thought underqualified and seemed worried about leading an entire nation. Some of your worry’s may seem small or feel small compared to Jeremiah’s call to leading but yours are not less important to God because you matter to Him also, after God says in verse 10 Jeremiah 1:10 NIV. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”

Psalm 55:22 NIV. Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you: he will never let the righteous be shaken.

1 Peter 5:7 NIV. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Both verses tell us to cast our cares from the Old Testament to the New we are reminded about what God does for us, when He can carry our worries and cares, He can surely carry us.

When you face the next thing in your life worry about it by praying it off of you and casting your care unto the Lord.

Psalm 142:2 NIV. I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell him my trouble.

Lord, I am so grateful You hear me when I call to You no matter where I am or how big or small the request, as simple as something upon my heart dear to me You hear and answer with blessing, help all of us to be set apart from worry and be set up with You casting off our cares, for You are the Almighty who is strong enough and we are not, thank You for loving us this much to take on what we can’t. In Jesus name, Amen.
