Mis-Takes…

This keeps coming up in my heart so I know it’s important to share…I’m pretty sure we have all made a mistake at some point in our lives… Anyway, what if when we deliberately make a mistake knowing the warning was there or the outcome isn’t going to end very well making this particular mistake?

Hmm… I’ll give you two scenarios:

1.   Maybe I should slow down even though I am going the speed limit, you just have this sense slower is better, so you take your foot off of the accelerator / gas pedal and an animal runs in front of your vehicle on the highway, you sigh in deep relief thankful you never hit it, or ended up in the ditch swerving to miss it.

2.    You know which is the better choice to make and decide to continue doing what you are doing anyway, this could be simply putting away the dishwasher and you have too many dishes in your hands before you know it the sense you had to put a dish down it ends up on the floor creating a loud smash and a huge mess (glass is never easy to clean up its hard to find all the pieces and they tend to resurface days and even weeks later).

In scenario one when we are guided by the Holy Spirit and are in tune with Him, He will guide us in doing the right things to help our lives stay on track in this case stay safely on the highway not ending up in a ditch or into oncoming traffic, if we kept doing our own thing here and not listening to the Holy Spirit we could have ending up in an accident = a bad situation, thank You Holy Spirit for Your safe keeping. To extend this farther – when I leave in my vehicle, I Pray Plead the Precious Blood of Jesus over me and where the road takes me and ask the Lord to send His Angels concerning me and I can call upon them when I need them, in Jesus Name, Amen. This prayer and Holy Spirit invitation has kept me safe many, many, many times on the road, Thank You Lord. I’ve invited God to go where I go.

In scenario two it may seem like this sense from the Holy Spirit was just a day-to-day thing that people may label as a coincidence thing but I beg to differ if I would have obeyed after hearing the Holy Spirit prompting, I would not have smashed a dish and had glass everywhere. I like to start my day by a simple get up in the morning prayer; ‘Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You - You make my way, in Jesus Name, I pray, Amen’. I’ve invited God into my day.

Mistakes happen – we learn from them, and as long as we are trying better next time yay! for us, but remember in scenario one things could have gotten ugly really fast, so be aware of a mistake you’re making or about to make and think twice because there may not be a second chance.

God has told me “I’m doing my part, are you doing yours”? Wow I thought God doesn’t usually speak to me like this but when you grow in relationship with Him, He knows exactly what we need and how we need it to get our attention… Jokingly, I thought He wanted me to share this information with my husband, I thought it was for him and because I didn’t think God was talking to me and like this but it has stuck with me and with my husband when I told him about it. When the Lord gives warnings and we ignore it we take ourselves out of Gods hand and think we can do better and we truly cannot. WE ARE NOT GOD.  

Our Lord cares about the big things and the little things and the more we are in tuned with Him and the closer we are to Him, meaning we spend adequate amount of time with Him in a real heart felt way not just to get the ‘brownie points’ if you know what I mean but to actually want to grow your relationship with Him, all of these senses/promptings or nudges we get throughout our day wouldn’t be sluffed off they will become more heart blessing moments you get to have with a loving God all day long.

You see I love hearing from God – people say God doesn’t talk to me the way He talks to you, well maybe not, He talks to each one of us the way He knows we will listen and understand Him.

John 10:4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. Sheep won’t follow a stranger’s voice, we are the sheep and Jesus is the shepherd, spending time together we get to know the voice of our Savior Jesus and through Him we were gifted the Holy Spirit who resides in all Gods Saints this is how close God is in us and how we can hear well.

A couple things to encourage you to hear God more clearly:

1.   Ask Him to give you the right ears to hear him.

2.   Spend time alone with Him.

3.   He speaks through His Word (bible), nature, worship, church sermons, and people. *A warning here no matter what you hear from others a pastor or friend whoever make sure it is ordained by the Lord – things can sound really good but doesn’t mean they are or that they are from God (how you can tell, if it lines up with the Word of God its true because His Word is always true).

In closing all things that come from God are good, so anytime you have a sense, prompting, or nudge ask the Lord what to do – if its to slow down to avoid hitting something – slow down. If its to put a dish down – put the dish down (you’re carrying too much at once). If its to pray for someone – pray – its never wrong to pray but ask God what He wants to say or ask God how He wants it to be, asking permission to pray with that person, or sometimes it can be you pray in the secret place with God and they don’t need to know about it until the time is right, God will be softening their heart until that time. Thank You Lord.      

Galatians 5:16-18 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are on conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.   

2 Corinthians 5:7 We live by the Spirit not by sight.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Holy Spirit thank You Jesus for this special gift I love how I can be guided into doing more of the right things in my life just by being more aware of Holy Spirits promptings help us all Lord to be extra sensitive to Holy Spirit so we can all live more safely and bless others properly by Your guidance and Will. Lord I am in awe of You with every moment in this awareness of You and sensing Your love in so many more ways. I pray all Saints are intrigued by Your Holy Spirit even more than before earning for a deeper more profound relationship Lord I pray a protection over the hearts and minds of Your people may they all have clear hearing and sensing of You Lord. You are amazing God. I love You. In Jesus Precious and Holy Name, I pray, Amen.
