Now I only encourage this if it is a brief notion of reminding ourselves we were able to grow, change, defeat, overcome, gain strength, rise above or in any way what ever obstacle we were faced with we made it through it and the positive way of looking back is the only way we should reflect on our past. Remember we are not facing our conquered dilemma now in the present we are just remembering how far we’ve come, don’t go looking back to reflect our growth and end up falling back into that particular situation or pit.
*Remember you were never alone, and God brought you through.
Psalm 139:15 & 16 NIV. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
I have now wrote 100 Blogs and this one makes 101, I am very excited to look back because I am celebrating the 100 already conquered obstacles I have faced and now with 101 I am encouraging a loving reminder its okay for some of the obstacles to remind us and refresh us of the deep God given power and strength we have gained by taking hold of His Almighty hand and walking through that time or those times in our life with our Heavenly Father. Some of them may not have been all that bad but when they’re not so bad its okay to thank God for a blessing anyway, don’t wait to get through something tough with the Lord and then give thanks - give thanks every-day, through every obstacle.
Walking through memory lane can bring up all kinds of feelings, thoughts, and emotions but its good that when you reflect ‘looking back’ to keep moving forward and don’t dawdle in the past because that’s when you may find yourself dwelling on what no longer needs your time and energy, but when they are the real good feel good moments treasure them within your heart and still keep moving forward.
Reflection:
Looking back remembering how far I have come in my relationship with the Lord is many things to me…
*God loving me before I even knew Him, to me accepting His love and knowing I am enough for Him no matter what I can or cannot do and I love Him. *From an easy breezy new believer walk, to a more mature deeper walk.
Looking back and remembering who far my marriage has come…
*Through many challenges we have faced, words can’t describe our love and strong bond we formed growing together in a harmony so sweet.
Looking back parenting kids to instill within them good Godly characters…
*Nothing can replace the type of joy we carry because God chose us as parents and He gifted us with these wonderful amazing loving kiddos.
Looking back as a personal reflection just of my own self…
*It’s peaceful for me to reflect on how much more at peace I am, how I am able to come through so many things in life because Jesus saved me, God has got me – wrapped in His Heavenly Father’s arms, and Holy Spirit guiding me I listen to make the right choices to live a life full of wonderful blessings.
Psalm 139:9 & 10 NIV. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
Galatians 5:25 NIV. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Heavenly Father, thank You for strengthening me along the way bringing me through the hard stuff I could not do life without You and I don’t know how people do. I pray there is an awaking in people’s hearts to realize You are there in their midst when they don’t even know You are there help soften their hearts to find You Lord Jesus and accept You as their Savior. Lord You are the only one who gives the most precious gift of ‘Eternal Life’, I pray that is the only gift people realize they need and they realize it before its to late. I thank You Lord for Your love and loving me just the way I am. I pray others will come to know they don’t need a certificate a diploma or a trophy for You to love them for what they do, I pray they come to You as they are because You accept them already. As we look back help us to only remember how far we have come with You and help us not to get stuck there again, I pray the looking back is a means of celebrating the gain of conquering that life challenge to bring You glory. You are so good, so merciful, so gracious and compassionate thank You Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
