What?
No, no, no, I don’t mean by substance. I mean by obeying God and getting a major rush afterwards, it’s such a cool feeling and really hard to explain, how alive you feel and become, it’s a complete rush a HIGH.
No drug, No alcoholic drink, No water-slide, No roller-coaster, No rock-climbing a mountain, No 4x4 adventure, No sky-dive etc., etc., can or even will come close to the way you feel when you step out into the obedience God lines up for you and you decide to take the leap, the plunge, the dive, the step off the cliff and realize God has got you.
When God sets up a divine appointment and you show up and obey life happens. Joy is fulfilled to overflowing and you feel so, so, so alive and well.
We were late for an appointment to see a house and the realtor was getting cranky and wanted to cancel, (by the way I hate being late) I suggested if the home owner was still okay for us to see the property even though he was there that we should ask. (Usually homeowners leave while you view their homestead or property.) He was okay with us still viewing his dwelling. In this case Gods timing is perfect and being late was all in this divine appointment, if we were early like I like to be we would have been too late, to bless this man, because he would not have been there. (We weren’t there to see the house like we thought at first…God lined up this divine appointment).
As he sat at the kitchen table waiting for us to finish looking around, I began to feel a pull to pray with him. I did not know this man, never met him before this moment. I told Jeff and the realtor I’d catch up, Jeff was okay with it, the realtor gave me a weird look. I went over to the old man and ask if I could pray with him, he said “Yes, Alright, that’d be fine!” when I was finished praying he whipped tears and told me, “My wife was the one who prayed, and she prayed all the time.” I teared up as I hugged him and he thanked me. What a blessing this was for this man, I believe he needed this so very much and I was so glad I heard God and obeyed, I felt so alive and could not stop smiling, I was overwhelmed by feelings I can’t even describe, it was literally amazing, I felt like I could fly.
There wasn’t a fast crash or emptiness like there would be for a substance that you absorb into your body and then want more and more to fill a void and still not be fulfilled the void stays and never lets go of you because it is a sickness, disease, an addiction, a want and not a need. Any kind of a sin filled substance or desire can and will leave you in void and you’ll keep seeking for more of it because it doesn’t last you will always run out of that fill or high.
BUT when your lined up with what God has for you spending time in the word becoming equipped you can step out of your comfort zone into Gods uncomfortable zone where he provides comfort for us and always gain such a high upon your live you have never ever felt or even dreamed about. If you want to feel alive and well you want your life to count you want complete un-voided fulfillment obey your Heavenly Father the next time he nudges you gently to pray for a stranger and watch how God brings your life to life. You'll feel so high you will feel like you can fly and there’s no emptiness or void afterwards. You are alive and there’s no other feeling like it.
Each mountain you climb there’s a certain rush and every time you climb down that feeling of such a rush leaves you wanting to climb another mountain, same goes for a roller-coaster or a sky-dive again and again no matter what activity you sign up for you will always fall short afterward, but every time I look back on those special divine appointments God has set up for me and I have obeyed them I never loose in those moments there always with me. When I Have climbed a mountain I have to return to feel that rush again but with Gods appointments those reflections have never faded out into the background or landscape of a mountain face there within my heart and they keep me filled up alive in traveling on Gods path and the blessings are gifted all round, mountain climbs don’t bless me or others.

Philippians 2:3&4 NIV Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
