I have been hearing it a lot lately, so what does it even mean?
Kindness by definition is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.
I say, it is also something that when we have been kind leaves an impact in someone else’s life in a positive way.
“Treat others how you want to be treated”. Its an old saying, but one that needs to resurface in a way kindness is revealed through it. I want people to be kind to me, so I will be kind to them.
Matthew & Luke both mention this quote in their life testimonies as a part of the gospel, it is important.
Matthew 7:12 NIV. So in everything, do unto others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew talks about this being a gift from our Father in Heaven, and because God gives only good gifts to His children those of us who have accepted Him as our Heavenly Father, this is important to Him and should be for us as well, to share with others the Fathers love so that others will know He is good and loving and kind.
Luke 6:33 NIV. Do to others as you would have them to do you.
Sometimes giving to others when you don’t think they deserve it blesses them enough, that maybe one day they pass that act of kindness around, and if not, you are NOT the one who decides whether someone deserves something or not, always be kind, always love.
Actions speak louder than words, retaliations don’t help situations that are already out of control. Luke says to love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting anything back. Then your reward will be great. And you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Luke 7:35-36. NIV.
“Hear me now, I am not saying to put up with someone who is treating you badly, unfairly or causing you pain, this can happen in many different ways and in a lot of different places… at work, at school, at home, at a friend’s, at a family member’s, anywhere…”
Luke also talks about judging others. Luke 7:37 NIV. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. But know this, somethings are not this simple. Life gets tough and something’s we don’t normally talk about are hidden behind walls and some being too afraid to do anything about their situations, they’re misunderstood and all we can do is to put everything into God hands and allow Him to carry it all, even us. (I have slightly gone pretty deep here, but know I have been in tough situations and I dug deep to get out and still remind myself every-day that I am strong enough, good enough, loved enough, I am who He says I am, accepted, His daughter. He loves deeply all who call upon His name and He is Love, please remember that).
In closing being kind will be a hard thing to learn to do if you have not had the example shown to you in your life and if there is still healing to be done take your time and heal, it seems when I’ve been hurt, the last thing I’ve wanted to do is be kind or love someone else but not everyone is the same, the only One who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow is who you can count on most and that’s Jesus. Hebrews 13:8 NIV. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever.
Heavenly Father Lord of my life I love You and am grateful I can come to You anytime and for everything. My heart is yearning for closeness with You right now. As I draw near to You my heart aches for those who are stuck and for those who want to spread Your loving kindness but feel trapped. I ask You Lord to break off the demonic force that is enclosing on those who are pressing in toward You. I pray the encircling of the enemy’s dark cloak are struck off right now, in the name of Jesus. I pray for those wondering if they are going the right direction that as they press in closer to You, they hear clearly and see fully. I pray You release those who feel inadequate, trapped by the enemy’s snare. Lord, I pray You reequip us in Your strength and ability not our own, for when our strength and abilities lack, Yours, empower us because the power we need come from Your Heavens Heights. I pray You release Your Heaven Armies from the Spiritual Realm to war off the enemy’s lies and the deception he pushes falls because of Your goodness, kindness, and love covering those in need and they gain from You Lord all they need. I pray Your love to be poured over our country and the whole world. I pray we start to notice more kindness and love spread forth. I pray where You are Lord the enemy fleas in the name of Jesus, the demonic force of negativity and corruption are silenced and an awaking of Your people Lord are brought forth to carry out Your desire, for the Earth belongs to You. I pray a protection over all of Your people Lord and those not yet accepting You there is a rise and through the wind gusts Your presence is felt deeply and Your love exudes, In Jesus Precious and Holy Name, Amen.
