NO! I am not talking about the bittersweet chocolate grandma put into her baking…
I’m talking about the bittersweet emblem of Jesus Christ our Savior dying in our place as a priceless gift of abounding love on a cross to make a way for All of our Salvation.
Mary’s face soaked wet from not only weeping but gushing tears strolling down her cheeks, like a mighty waterfall continuous waves of water pouring out from her eyes, her stomach turned in gut wrenching pain seeing her Son Jesus, struggling to carry His cross up to where the crucifixion of His life would take place, high on the hill of Calvary.
Jesus the Messiah now had to endure a heavy brutal pain, an undistinguishable sense of hurt pressing on Him, abuse that is bitterly hard to speak about…
Isaiah 53:11 &12 NIV. 11 After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many and made intersession for the transgressors.
Coming to a time where we remember the death of Jesus, how He died and why, we not only turn on thankful hearts but also being this a bittersweet moment in Jesus’s life we weep for our Lord praise, worship, acknowledging His unforgettable gesture for our lives.
With Him on the cross were two others being crucified. The difference was that they were meant to be crucified for the crimes they had committed and Jesus was without sin, He was completely innocent and being crucified without cause.
Luke 23:39-43 NLT. 39 One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are You? Prove it be saving yourself-and us, too while you’re at it!” 40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 Then he said, “Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
The men enduring the crucifixion with Jesus were sentenced correctly and as they were, one of the men spoke up and realized the truth in Jesus, he believed in Him, so his life was saved into eternal paradise.
Sometimes we feel not good enough to be loved or accepted for some of the things we have done throughout our lives; bad choices, sin…the list goes on but here is the perfect example of not having to clean up your act to be saved. All you have to do is believe in Jesus.
We don’t know the exact end of time and for each person somedays come sooner than others, as it is sad, it is even sadder to know that the fact right now in this very moment you still have a choice to choose to live in an Eternal Paradise should you accept Jesus, but if not for all Eternity you’ll be sent to hell for the most excruciating tormented pain every day. The man on the cross barley made it, only because he was with Jesus Himself, don’t let that be you, you may not get that moment. Jesus didn’t die for nothing He died for you and for me, for all.
Lord I pray that those who have not yet accepted You that they have an awaking in them right now in Jesus, name. I pray they will drop everything the are doing and pray for You to come into their lives. I am thankful I have found You in my lifetime, because I cannot do life without You, thank You for loving me. I pray Lord for healing in our nation Lord that this Good Friday be a bittersweet Friday in remembrance of You Lord for what You did to save us. I pray Lord that the Precious Blood You shed for us doesn’t go unnoticed that the symbol of Your Blood holds power and people recognize that. I pray people see Your name Lord Jesus more clearly than they ever have before, that they hear Your name and call to You, and while Your name is being highlighted everywhere, they realize Your name holds power and they run to You. I pray Lord for Your healing touch through our land and Your comfort be a blanket over all. In Jesus name, Amen.
