Back and forth…

Looking back on last year, 2019, reflect on all the things God has done in your life but remember the past is in the past. So, I’m not saying to remain there just reminisce a little only because when you do you can just slightly imagine all the new incredible things God is right now improving for your life for the new year in 2020 it’s just around the corner and as you reflect it’s a way to realize God has got you always.
Ephesians 3:20 NIV. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
God only gives a lamp unto our feet so we don’t get so caught up in the overwhelming pressure of what’s to come, the lamp is there only for a guide to keep a peaceful heart and mind but a flood light opens up way too many things to adjust to all at once, creating an anxious heart and mind.
Psalm 119:105 NIV. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
While spending time alone with the Lord opens up opportunity to know him better it also opens up our hearts to what God has in store for our lives… With this being said I’ve had my fair share of looking back then getting stuck there still while trying so very hard to keep my focus forward, I have found I keep myself from the enjoyment of life living in the past of my guilt (feeling undeserving), my pain (feeling invaluable), etc. – etc.… I must truly believe what God has in-store for my life is much better than anything before and remember how far He has brought me, that I am redeemed, washed clean, and renewed. I am a child of God, so I need to believe what He has in store for me, since He’s the creator and He is Almighty, nothing is impossible. We can’t just say or sing that were children of God, we need to feel it inside our Souls we need to truly ‘Believe’. Say it out loud, shout it out, look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself who’s you are.
Ephesians 3:10 NIV. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
When we start to believe the promises, God has laid out for us then we may begin to live a free life knowing He has the reigns steering you and me in the right direction. When things are confusing like they are for me right now… know God is in control and the rested - waiting is the developing stage we need to be in at this time and place in our lives. The new, 2020 year will be amazing. Call out to those promises as they are not as though they are. God will change your life. He truly has for me, ‘patience is a virtue’.
Look back on the year but continue to keep moving forward - know you can’t rush the Lord, peace be yours and peace my guide, Amen.
Romans 4:17 NIV. As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed-the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
