We just watched the movie ‘Cast Away’ (I had to close my eyes for a scene) but for the most part it’s got everything, and it is a very good movie. After watching this movie, it brought up quite a few thoughts of how are we staying the course of life, not backing down, never giving up, fighting for survival, digging deep inside to keep wanting to live and what that looks like, in the way of what keeps us going, how do we keep going and most importantly what does keep us going? I don’t want to spoil the movie if you haven’t seen it, so here are my encouraging words for today’s survival.

Jesus is the only One who saves – nobody else can save you, you are the one who decides to accept Jesus into your heart and your Soul is saved.

With this being said when you are without God’s anchor and are drifting into a mass sea and there is no land or boat keeping you afloat it is only the Lord who allows us to live. Living for someone else is not the answer – living for God is.

Our reliability cannot be found in others – we can only rely on God Himself. People have a lack of means God has no lacking abilities whatsoever.

There’s been a time in my life where I let go of the Lord went my own way did my own things and I was pulled into the deep for a time, but when death stared me right in the face, I knew it was time to find my true Anchor again. I cannot do life without the Lord I tried, at first it rapidly spirals out of control and everything turns upside down, then it begins to very slowly and silently kill you from the inside out it creeps in without you noticing and then you start to fall, slipping away through moments of desolate, lifeless, sorrowful hopelessness. What happens then… sometimes you find a way out and re-commit to God and other times He picks you up and carries you to higher ground and safely places you on a strong supportive foundation, His knee. Remember it is always your choice what you choose, the life raft God places you on or you sinking into the deep.

You are loved, free to make your own decisions but from my experience in life the only one choice I am encouraging you to Anchor yourself to, is to Jesus.

Hebrews 6:19 NLT. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary

Lord I pray that when we are adrift, we look to You, when we are in survival mode, we go to You and when we are at our breaking points, we fall upon Your lap. Lord strengthen us in the way we should go so we don’t sink down into the deep, help us to come to You always and for every single thing we do in our lives, for we are Yours. Lord I pray we tether ourselves with a palomar knot close to You and as we anchor ourselves with You Lord, we become an unbreakable force. I thank You Lord for picking me up and carrying me when I was unable to and I thank You for Your love. In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalm 18:27-32 NLT. 27 You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud. 28 You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. 29 In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. 30 God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. 31 For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? 32 God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect.
