A little goes a ‘LONG’ way…

You’ve probably heard this saying before, but what does it really mean…

I believe God whispered this into someone’s ear once and it spread… He just whispered it into mine too.

A little goes a long way:

-The big picture of life would be too much, to have unfolded before us, all at once, overwhelming would set in anxiousness, uneasy about how to handle it all and what to do first, many other thoughts would race through our minds then confusion would set in, and then we’d be a complete mess. A little goes a long way.

-One foot in front of the other, we crawl before we walk and walk before we run. Easy does it. Gain the stability before the ability. A little goes a long way.

-A pathway on a dark trail is better lite up when the flashlight you are carrying is pointed to the ground just in front of your feet, you shine the light upward and you begin to stumble, because you don’t know where the roots are under your footing, the light is opening a whole lot more to see but you need the small spot light. A little goes a long way.

God gives us little by little, I have been a follower of the Lord almost 20 years now, and yes, I would have preferred to meet Him sooner but it was meant to be, for God knows our comings and goings and when. A little goes a long way to keep our peace in check, to keep control in check, to keep us in check, if we knew everything about everything we’d do it ‘our own way’ and that just simply isn’t the way it’s supposed to be, we were created by God and for God to glorify Him not us so while we are passing through this side of Heaven let’s get to know what God is calling us to do and listen, obey and do the Will of God, to glorify Him, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for God in the first place.

All at once is too much it consumes us… Tires us, takes from us, over stimulates us.

I am an over-doer (ya! not a word but, you know what I mean): I push too hard too fast and put everything into what I am doing and more example: I am the one if or when I get groceries, I have to bring every single bag in all at once, I don’t like making 2 trips I want to do it all in 1, not cool afterwards my arms have marks on them and I grunt struggling to get through the door I could make it easier on myself to go back and simply get another load nope, I, have to do it all. No, No, No, I don’t, I don’t have to prove anything and it takes longer for me to even figure out what bags comes off first and then I’m all tangled up. (now my hubby, gets the groceries, lol… never-mind there’s a better reason but we’ll just leave it at that).

Stability before ability, the more time I spend with God the more developed I become and the more developed I become the more I can lean on Him to take me where I need to go, a little goes a long way because during our walk it is a true wholesome process we need to learn about our God and we need to build our relationship on what we learn about Him His Desires become our Desires and His Will becomes our Will as we navigate through scriptures it provides tools for us to better understand ‘Who we are, Where we come from and What we need to know.

Easy does it… touche' I want to know-now, I don’t want it to be a process I don’t want to be stretched and tested. BUT along my journey I have finally began to realize I don’t have my life under control only God does so why do I keep putting all this pressure on myself to control, because losing control we are vulnerable and trusting God would mean to lay your- self down surrender become accessible and that leaves us open in the cross hairs of what life may throw at you, BUT if we can get outside of ourselves we have an Almighty God covering over us that is better than even trusting ourselves, even I have let myself down and I can’t control everything anyway, only God can. So, while I am in the processing of my Heavenly Father, He is the one who lays the way for me I gain with Word of scripture and hearing His still small voice, promptings by the Holy Spirit and knowing there is the Precious Blood of Jesus’s covering over my life, I would not know the things of the Lord if not being in Gods process, it’s a developing, learning, receiving, gaining knowledge and wisdom, to do for God what is light, peaceful, bear much fruit not little it takes time it’s a process Gods process Gods timing Gods development in who you are in Him before you can get out and run the marathon you have got to crawl first, walk, then run. A little goes a long way…My marathon is paced but I call it a marathon because it’s long distance and we need the stability in God before the ability to walk out in our calling that glorifies Him and not us. Remember you belong to God He chose you for a purpose and its going to be grand because He is faithful and the Lord is good, His love endures forever and He is compassionate about His people-YOU.

Colossians 1:9-14 NIV. 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped pray for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthen with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
