Tone

The general character or attitude of a situation.

Mood, note, attitude, character, manner, or temper.

Mood: a temporary state of mind or feeling, choosing to be happy, sad, mad or frustrated.

Tone: romantic setting (if you wanted a romantic tone you’d have candlelight and soft music) celebration (if you wanted a celebration you’d have streamers and loud music).

All ways to describe how a person could be in a situation or attitude of a character, key word being choice.

Psalm 118:24 says This is the day the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Every morning be grateful you get another day no matter if your yesterday was a total bust it’s over here’s a new day, its fresh and a blessing.

As a women, wife, mom (or man, husband, dad) there are days we’ve all felt like going back to bed, pulling the covers over our heads and hoping this time when we open our eyes something will be different, change will have taken place and we can start over and truly rejoice. Well you can! YOU need to just decide no matter how you wake up in the morning don’t allow how you feel (probably the repercussions of yesterday’s bust of a day still linger). Choose your rejoice, your gladness (Psalm 118:24) not a grouchy, sluggish, moody sad self, because no matter your circumstances, God has you. Spend enough time with Him and you won’t have to be convinced you’ll know His promises are yes and amen. You won’t question He’s looking out for you and your best interests, the closeness you have developed with your Heavenly Father who loves you will leak out of you and onto others.

Philippians 4:13 For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

A promise from our Heavenly Father who loves you.

So back to tone…

I wanted to talk about tone because God said so.

Me as a mom, I set the tone for my household (so I’m told :)) If I’m happy those around me are happy, if I’m sad, mad, frustrated or angry those around me are then those tones also. What we do our kids do they are copy cats, but also when you are those things in an office around others in close quarters of some sort you can rub off on them to. (Strong influenced people or tones can rub off on others) or (even sensitive soft people can be influenced by others tones). Kids have eyes like hawks and ears like elephants!

If I’m to raise my children up in the way that they should rightfully go, as scripture says

Proverbs 22:6 then it’s my job to lead by example, don’t you think it makes God happy when we’re happy.

Setting the tone for your home is critical don’t you think gloomy selves don’t start great fresh new days, gloomy selves would start days lead by defeat or discouragement, don’t allow yourself to wake up to be negative in some way shape or form trust that God will handle it and be thankful for the blessing of a new fresh day.

There could be an exciting new adventure right up ahead and you’d already be choosing to be gloomy and sad with the negative self you put on in the morning, that you’d walk right past and miss all the fun.

Psalm 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.

Sometimes the very uplifting gifts you are missing out on being in a gloomy state are gifts from the Lord, seeing as though we were created to love. How can I love from gloom?

So when I get up out of bed I decide to no matter the circumstance I RISE pray out a promise my Heavenly Father gifted to me, to equip my way and that should be enough to be in a positive state and want to have that rub off on those around me, passing people by with the light of Jesus shinning out of me with the love the Holy Spirit provides within so I can share His love.

Don’t think this is easy by any means because tones do change but when you stay the course of Jesus’s way truth and light you choose your tone it’s your choice always and for real it’s more fun to be in a happy environment around others, then in a down unlighted suck the life out of you place, you want LIGHT.

1 Corinthians 10:13 God only gives what we can handle.

So truly who can handle heaviness anyway?

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of God. What we have to remember is that God will never let you down, He will never let you be pushed past your limit, and He’ll always be there to help you come through it.

Proverbs 3:5&6 is a great verse to team with 1 Corinthians 10:13

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take.

In conclusion who ever you’re around throughout your day; at work, with your kids, grocery shopping, around your spouse, remember Gods love flows through all of us, so if you’re not in a good place the Holy Spirit can’t direct us even when we speak, and we need the guidance of God always to flow what’s right and good, from our God Tone. Confide in the Lord He will renew our minds, refreshing us to do well, it all comes from our heart.

Psalm 48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.
